~*dream~*
Dreams are like another world
To which imagination is the key.
Every night I fall asleep
And these dreams, they embrace me.
I find myself in the middle
Of a different sort of land
That only Dorothy or Alice
Could ever understand.
There's an enchanting forest, full of life
Where pixies play after a light rain shower.
There's also a place where dragons roam,
And a girl awaits her prince in a castle tower.
Cleopatra's pyramids,
With Siamese cats and Pharaohs and more,
Gold, riches, mummified leaders,
Gods and lovely Goddesses galore.
Through the Atlantic Sea I swim,
Colorful fish, mermaids, dolphins, till at last,
Through the coral reefs, I reach the Titanic,
Where I dine with people from the past.
I lay on my back in the long, soft grass,
Entranced, as I gaze into the bright night skies.
Glowing stars go on forever and a day,
Like diamonds, their shine reflecting in my eyes.
I cling to the back of a great, giant eagle
And we soar through the air, the wind in my face.
The bird lets out a triumphant cry
As we glide above the world with powerful grace.
Music Diva, Egyptian Queen,
Successful Lawyer, just plain "Me,"
Super powers, unlimited strengths,
In dreams I'm anything I want to be.
Most of my dreams are happy places,
Where I go when comfort is what I've sought.
Then, there are other dreams that sometimes occur
That are sad and scary, but happy they are not.
Looming above, casting despair
Is an angry storm where black clouds appear.
Animals shudder, Faeries quiver,
We huddle together to slay our fear.
Once the growling thunder subsides,
After the howling winds are gone,
We come out again and continue our games,
Laughing and dancing and singing a song.
A tranquil forest, a hot, dusty desert,
The flowing waters, a flowery meadow,
A current of air, an icy mountain,
These places and more are where I go.
Only once I've seen what I think to be Heaven,
With indescribable beauty, colors unknown.
Was it just a dream, or is it really there?
My heart smiles, for I have been shown.
